LOCAL COMPANY SHORTLISTED FOR INTERNATIONAL AWARD
An Edwardian-style development by locally based developer, Roffey Homes, has won a national award for the ‘UK’s Best Apartment’ and is now through to the finals of the International Property Awards. The family-owned company was presented with the ‘Best Apartment in the UK Award’ as well as awards for the ‘Best Apartment in West Sussex’ and ‘Best Development in West Sussex’ for Esplanade Grande at a glittering ceremony at the Marriott Hotel in London last week.
Roffey Homes will be joining five other international nominees from Europe, Arabia, the Americas, Asia Pacific and Africa for the prestigious title of the ‘World’s Best Apartment’ at the Grand Final on 12 November in California, USA. The International Property Awards hosts the largest annual gathering of property professionals from around the globe.
Managing Director of Roffey Homes, Ben Cheal said: “We are extremely delighted to have won these highly coveted awards, and for Esplanade Grande to have been officially declared the best in the country and put forward for an international award is fantastic. This is amazing not only for us but for West Sussex as a whole, as it shows the rest of the country just what small, home-grown companies using local craftsmen and locally sourced materials can achieve. My grandfather who founded Roffey Homes almost fifty years ago would have been very proud.
“We’ve always strived to achieve the highest standards of excellence but this now raises the bar even higher for our current and future projects, like The Eardley and Beach Hotel in Worthing. Our aim is to develop iconic buildings that acknowledge their superb location on the seafront, while capturing the feeling of progression and confidence that Worthing needs to portray as we move forward into the 21st century.
“I would like particularly like to thank Ian Smalley of Neil Holland Architects for his inspiring design and local contractors such as Bernie Evans of Arundel Stone for sharing our vision for the project. Thanks must also go to both Henry Adams and Michael Jones for their sterling efforts in selling Esplanade Grande during the worst global recession ever, and to Tania Fensom of Marketingmenu and Franki Martelly of Firefly Creative Design for their creative ideas and hard work in compiling our award-winning entry.”
Esplanade Grande is located on the seafront at Bognor Regis. All 51 of the lavishly appointed two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses have private, south facing balconies or sun terrace where residents can enjoy uninterrupted views across the English Channel. Each apartment features individually planned designer kitchens with integrated appliances, luxurious shower rooms and en-suites, spacious master bedrooms and come with secure lower ground parking and garaging.
Over 70% of Esplanade Grande has now been sold and prices for the remaining two and three bedroom apartments start from £295,000 rising to £525,000 for a top floor penthouse.
